Widely seen as an integral part of Scotland’s kilts, comes Plaid. Plaid is a stunning grid patterned design dating back to the Black Watch in 1725, and used by the British Army. Our Plaid carpet collection is an honourable callback to the original design of Plaid, sporting a degree perfect lineage of woven fabric in a cross barred pattern. This collection has 5 natural colours to choose from, ranging from dark to light tones. Plaid has a thick, yet chic weave of sisal and wool, creating Sisool. Sisool is a wonderful amalgamation of two of the most popular fibres for carpets and this particular weave combines matte tones with metallics for a sumptuous finish. Made from 80% sisal, the Plaid collection provides texture underfoot, used in making rope and various other products; it is known for being tough. Wool makes up the remaining 20% of the carpet, known for its hard-wearing properties, sustainability and excellent insulation. From the dark shades of Rich Black, with dyed black sisal fibres, to the mysterious Misty Grey like a winter morning on the highlands, our Plaid collection is a pause in time of the colour scheme of a British day.
